Note: Maoist Road has recently published a short statement on the situation in the United States. As far as I’m aware, this is the only international statement on the former CR-CPUSA movement other than the one posted on the Communist International website which places full support behind the micro-clique surrounding Jared Roark.

Maoist Road is a long-standing international Maoist periodical and website documenting revolutionary movements across the world-especially in India-as well as the struggle for international unity following the collapse of the RIM.

Although our experience in the anti-people, anti-communist cult organization that was the CR-CPUSA is just one of many such experiences with little real historic consequence, I am relieved to see an international organization take a firm stand in solidarity with the victims and against Jared’s circle.

maoistroad receives from USA and informs ICM(mlm) for debate

Hello comrades,

A website has been published detailing the truth about the Committee to Reconstitute the Communist Party of the USA (CR-CPUSA), formerly known as the Red Guards, and formerly the US party-building effort associated with what is now called the International Communist League.

As you may or may not know, ICL representatives visited the US this past December and gathered much of this information, but we are not sure how much of this investigation they shared with the ICM as a whole, and we are not convinced they got a clear account based on their mainly talking to the CR-CPUSA’s reactionary leaders, and their voicing puzzling support for the remaining ~10 reactionaries calling themselves the CR-CPUSA still. Hopefully this website will provide clarity and material for useful study for all. 

While not a summation in a Marxist sense, because most of us former members do not feel we grasp Marxism well enough yet to provide the information in that framework, the website seeks to provide the facts and history so that comrades both locally and internationally can understand and analyze themselves what has happened, and to provide vindication for the countless members and masses the CR-CPUSA leaders abused and exploited.

We understand many of you are engaged in revolutionary struggles and do not expect you to prioritize this information, which as a small and destructive phenomenon in the United States, will not mean much in the grand scheme of history. But there has been a deep, recurring problem plaguing the revolutionary movement in the US and Western Europe, of which this is a staggering example, of party-building efforts turning into destructive and abusive organizations serving only as a cult around their leadership (what this website calls a “cult”). Providing this thorough expose of what happened is not only a means to defend the lives and dignity of the masses harmed by the CR-CPUSA, but help the revolutionary movement learn from this case study and avoid these errors.
